CHALLENGE

In 2016, Microsoft made a significant investment in growing Azure as competition in the cloud market accelerated. To rapidly upskill its global sales and partner organizations, Microsoft launched quarterly Cloud Architect Boot Camps in Redmond, bringing together hundreds of technical sellers for several days of intensive training.

Each event required coordinating approximately 600 attendees, more than 60 speakers, and over 100 session proctors, while managing dozens of concurrent training sessions, presentation materials, and last-minute schedule changes. With many speakers serving in executive and senior leadership roles, calendars shifted frequently, making flexibility and clear communication essential.

ACTION

As part of the event operations team, I managed executive speaker operations from planning through delivery. I coordinated speaker schedules, collected and organized presentation content, maintained presentation libraries, tracked readiness across dozens of sessions, and worked closely with stakeholders to ensure each presenter had what they needed before stepping on stage.

To support the broader event, I developed communication plans, presentation workflows, speaker guidance, branded materials, and operational documentation that helped simplify an otherwise complex production schedule. Throughout the week, I partnered with more than 100 session proctors, trainers, and event staff to resolve issues in real time, adjust schedules as needed, and keep the program running smoothly.

Because these events were produced every quarter for three years, I continuously refined our processes, improving communication, documentation, and operational efficiency from one event to the next.

RESULT

Over the course of three years, I helped deliver multiple large-scale learning and readiness events that equipped Microsoft's global Azure sales organization with the knowledge needed to support one of the company's highest strategic priorities. The repeatable systems, communications, and operational processes our team developed enabled consistent execution across hundreds of participants, dozens of executive speakers, and complex multi-day training programs.
