Hey dirt lovers!
Every year, I learn more about the best way to care for the animals in my tiny, backyard farm.
This spring, with the help of my sister, we built a bee hive and installed honey bees in the orchard. The orchard, a 2-year project in itself, consists of about 15 fruit trees including, pear, Asian pear, several apple varieties, cherries, persimmon, fig and a grape vine for good measure. I hope to have a bumper crop of fruit in a couple years, as my entrepreneurial kids would love to have a farm stand. Fruit, eggs, honey and who knows what else? June 2019 New! or Coming Soon posts:
Welcome to the farmette!
Filed under "farm-curious," my suburban, agrarian lifestyle has happened like honey in a jar, slow & sweet... with some chicken compost mixed in. I scheme about my next projects and drive my favorite people nuts by always asking "what if?" My favorite Seattle garden blog is nwedible.com.
